Development Funding Coordinator

Job Summary:
The Development Funding Coordinator is part of the team that cultivates and accounts for the donor and grant resources needed for Delta Gamma Center to achieve its mission. The
Development Funding Coordinator will support all areas of fund development to meet the annual fundraising goals.

_Duties and Responsibilities: *

  • Manages the use of Delta Gamma Center’s donor database Raiser’s Edge NXT and other online giving platforms to support fundraising.
  • Is the lead member of the development team responsible for maintaining and managing an accurate database of donor information and financial contributions.
  • Working with the Director of Development and Delta Gamma Center’s finance team, assigns fund codes, prepares gift batches, and enters pledges with payment information.
  • Prepares weekly giving reviews and monthly gift reconciliations; generates gift reports; and provides annual gift documentation to financial auditors.
  • Creates new individual and organizational constituent records, enters funds received through event registrations and sales, annual donations, workplace giving platforms, grants, tax-credit programs, tributes, planned gifts and gift data from all sources with

  • Works with development, finance, and marketing teams and the executive director to design, maintain, and run regularly scheduled and ad hoc queries and reports for all fundraising activities and create segmented lists to facilitate donor solicitation, stewardship, communication.

  • Maintains database integrity and quality by performing routine data checks and audits to eliminate duplicates and missing data, ensuring database fields and codes are utilized correctly and consistently.
  • Prepares written documentation of development database policies and procedures and ensures data integration is current and implemented.
  • Supports Director of Development in annual, recurring, major, and planned giving initiatives. Prepares donor profiles and creates prospect lists for gift solicitation.
  • Research current, past, and prospective individual, corporate, civic, and foundation donors to identify prospects for new or increased giving; event sponsorships; and in- kind donations.
  • Works with Director of Development to compose and produce timely and meaningful donor-centric gift acknowledgment letters and gift documentation for tax purposes.
  • Assists Event Coordinator and Volunteer Coordinator in advance of and during major annual fundraising events including Run for Sight, Shining Light Tree Lot, and Holiday

House.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Proficiency in development/donor databases is required, experience with Blackbaud

Raiser’s Edge NXT is strongly preferred.

  • Strong computer/technology skills including proficiency with Microsoft Office Word,

Excel, and Outlook required, competence with PowerPoint a plus. An ability to quickly become proficient with new technology is also a plus.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with rigorous attention to detail and outstanding accuracy in data and written communications. This position requires the ability to write compelling, donor centric gift acknowledgement letters.
  • Demonstrated ability to work efficiently and produce detailed, accurate, high-quality work under tight deadlines; ability to work on multiple projects concurrently.
  • Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills combined with a talent for building relationships and providing exceptional customer service.
  • Able to represent Delta Gamma Center in a professional and mature manner, maintain confidentiality, and show discretion.
  • Must be able to work cooperatively and effectively with development, program and administrative staff, clients, donors, and volunteers.
  • Ability to work some evenings and/or weekends.
  • Must have a car and maintain a valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and acceptable driving record.
  • Must be able to pass a background check, drug screen, and health certifications.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience in database management, business, communications, or a related field.

  • Database management experience required.
  • Three to five years of nonprofit development experience in a paid position preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to sit for long periods of time as most of the work is sedentary.
  • Must be able to lift or move up to 50 lbs.
  • Frequently will lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
  • Repetitive motion and substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
  • Close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading necessary.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
