Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Administrator

Job Description

DIVERSITY, EQUITY AND INCLUSION (DEI) ADMINISTRATOR, Koch Institute (KI) for Integrative Cancer Research, to implement, support, and advance programs and initiatives that promote a culture of DEI at the KI.  Will implement best practices that strengthen inclusion around dimensions of diversity and intersectionality among the KI’s population; help develop and implement tools, resources, and a range of solutions to grow the DEI culture and educate and guide faculty and staff to enhance diversity and inclusion; help KI administrators/leadership apply and share learning solutions; participate on several relevant KI committees; collaborate on outreach activities to attract and retain a diverse employee and trainee population; provide guidance to faculty, staff, and administrators to apply equitable practices and solutions to recruiting, hiring, promoting, developing, and recognizing a diverse body of staff/faculty/researchers/students; represent KI at relevant Institute events and programs; and collaborate with central offices and KI colleagues, including the Office of the Vice President for Research and areas within related academic schools, on developing and supporting inclusive practices and implementing practices that enhance diversity and inclusion.  Other responsibilities include coordinating, tracking, and reporting on DEI efforts related to the KI’s NCI Cancer Center Support Grant; evaluating progress in diversity and inclusion and recommending changes to processes; using data to assess and report on the outcomes of initiatives implemented to strengthen DEI; and perform other duties as assigned.  

Job Requirements:
REQUIRED:  bachelor’s degree; three years’ experience, including experience with diversity and inclusion implementation; support for MIT’s commitment to DEI; understanding of social justice, the dynamics of power and privilege, and social identities; and excellent interpersonal, communication, consultation, presentation, meeting design, and facilitation skills. PREFERRED: experience in higher education.  Job #22580-7
