The Department of Surgery at the University of Pittsburgh is inviting applications for the faculty position of Assistant Professor, appointment stream. The faculty member will play a key role in directing a research program in Comprehensive Wound Care at the McGowan Institute of Regenerative Medicine (MIRM).    

Qualifications:

Minimum requirements include a PhD in Microbiology or other relevant discipline and completion of a postdoctoral fellowship in molecular and cellular biology.  It is expected that the new faculty member will have significant experience managing scientific linkages with intra and extramural research groups and supporting center funding initiatives and innovation.  

Responsibilities:

The qualified scientist will play a major role in directing a dynamic program in basic and clinical research and trials in the area of tissue regeneration at the McGowan Institute of Regenerative Medicine (MIRM).  The faculty member will be tasked with strategic scientific vision planning and organization of laboratory operations, to include communication, engagement and reporting with federal agencies and non-federal agencies. Additionally, the faculty member will serve as industry liaison (identifying appropriate scientific process to address needs of industry partner, developing basic or clinical scientific study protocol and reports).
