*Tutor Coordinator
Job Description
Position Summary
Victoria College is recruiting for a full-time Tutor Coordinator to work in the Academic Support and Student Success Department. This position is responsible for providing integrated coordination of all Tutoring Centers on the Victoria College Main and Gonzales campuses to ensure consistent administration of tutoring services; oversees the recruitment, hiring, training, and evaluation of tutors. The Tutor Coordinator is responsible for leading the communication and marketing of the Tutoring Program as well as completing the periodic program assessments and evaluations.

Duties & Responsibilities
Duties include, but are not limited to the following:
- Lead and Manage the Tutoring Program at Victoria College
- Manage the scheduling of tutors
- Work with faculty and staff to identify student tutors and encourage tutoring attendance
- Communicate with faculty in a timely manner in reference to tutor offerings, weekly meals, appointment summaries (weekly)
- Advertise, screen applications, interview potential tutors, complete new hire paperwork and electronic/paper files
- Update tutor files and contact list with the hiring of each new tutor
- Oversee, coordinate, and conduct training for all tutors and evaluate all tutor’s performance to ensure quality and consistency of services
- Maintain College Reading and Learning Association (CRLA) program certification requirements and standards for all tutoring programs; attend CRLA Conference
- Track and maintain CRLA certification levels for the tutors
- Compile and maintain reports concerning the use of tutoring resources, tutor training, and evaluation of services in a timely manner
- Maintain the tutoring website and social media
- Oversee the tutor recommendations (STAR)
- Create and facilitate the TSI ELAR reviews
- Develop instructional materials and resources; assist with tutoring as needed
- Plan and lead at least two Tutor Orientations each year, one before each long semester, and use CRLA materials as a guide
- Provide tutors with tutorials, guidance, documentation, and training for all modes of delivery of tutoring services
- Assist with the Tutoring Center timesheet submission process. This includes printing Check-In reports, sending tutor e-mail reminders, and checking paperwork for corrections.
- Assist the dean in developing annual goals and objectives
- Maintain documentation for allocation of grant funds for payroll
- Assist the dean in developing annual budget recommendations
- Provide APA, MLA, AMA, and CMS format training for Humanities tutors
- Serve on committees that enhance the services for all students
- Collaborate with academic departments and other student services to develop and provide student workshops
- Maintain snack area on VC Main Campus and provide weekly hot lunches (shopping, preparing, and cleaning)
- All other duties as assigned by the Dean of Academic Support and Student Success
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Humanities/English required
- Master’s degree required
- Two years of leadership experience required
- Supervisory experience preferred
- Experience working with high school/college students required
- Strong computer skills are highly desired including but not limited to Excel pivot tables
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Willingness to collaborate and build rapport with students
- Familiarity with VC policies and procedures and student resources are preferred
- Ability to work flexible hours
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle controls, keypads, etc. Will be required to sit and reach with hands and arms as well as, sit, stand, and walk. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 15 pounds while loading office supplies and paper.
