Job Description

To perform the day-to-day operations of instructional programs on the assigned campus.

Essential Duties

  • Provide instruction for courses at a variety of times and locations.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to student engagement, student success, and instructional excellence.
  • Maintain access to students through posted office hours and electronic communication.
  • Prepare and utilize a course syllabus and assessments for each course using guidelines established by the institution.
  • Maintain current knowledge of effective teaching methodologies and utilize a variety of instructional delivery methods, classroom media, and educational resources.
  • Advise students in academic matters.
  • Evaluate student performance through a variety of means to measure progress while informing students in a timely manner.
  • Assist in the development, distribution and collection of assessments for courses and program objectives.
  • Provide recommendations to the Academic Dean, Assistant Dean, Department Heads, and Curriculum Resource Teams regarding curriculum.
  • Demonstrate a positive and professional relationship with students, colleagues, college administration, and the community.
  • Provide information requested of all faculty.
  • Submit timely college reports and forms to the appropriate divisions/departments.
  • Exhibit a commitment to lifelong learning through participation in professional development activities.
  • Possess a passion for teaching community college students.
  • Demonstrate effective communication skills, both written and orally.
  • Attend college orientation and required institutional meetings.
  • Responsible for other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Master’s degree or higher with at least 18 graduate hours in engineering. All coursework must be from an accredited college or university.

Teaching Experience (either at the college or secondary level) required.

Preferred Experience and Training

Online teaching experience.

College teaching experience..

In addition to a Master’s degree in Engineering, a Master’s degree or 18 graduate-level hours in either Computer Science or Mathematics.

Licensed Professional Engineer

Physical Requirements Required Degree, License or Certifications

Master’s degree or higher with at least 18 graduate hours in engineering. All coursework must be from an accredited college or university.
