Assistant Director, Targeted Recruitment

Job Description

ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF ADMISSIONS FOR TARGETED RECRUITMENT, Admissions, to independently plan, oversee, and manage recruitment programs targeting underrepresented students in the MIT undergraduate student population.  Will report to and work with the associate director for targeted recruitment on strategic planning to increase the number of targeted underrepresented students in the applicant pool; develop strong relationships with MIT Alumni affinity groups and community-based organizations in order to develop and nurture ongoing recruitment programs throughout the country; develop collaborative relationships with MIT students, staff, and faculty to encourage volunteer participation in recruitment programs; read and evaluate undergraduate admissions applications and serve on the admissions selection committee; schedule, coordinate, and present regional information sessions throughout the country; and perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

REQUIRED:  bachelor's degree; at least three years’ relevant experience, including at least two years of experience in college admissions or related field; support for MIT’s commitment to access, equity, and inclusion; excellent interpersonal, organizational, problem-solving, communication, and public speaking skills; sensitivity and tact in working collaboratively with diverse populations; ability to take initiative and transform ideas into practical solutions; experience developing and managing programs; ability to work independently with minimal supervision over sustained periods; and a valid driver's license.  Job #22531-7

Salary range: $64,000 - 78,000

Regular evening and weekend work required during the academic year.  Several weeks of air travel required annually.

Will be eligible to work a combination of in-office and remote days each week.
