Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Program Coordinator II for the Douglass Developmental Disabilities Center (DDDC). This position reports to the Behavior Analyst. The purpose of this position is to implement and assist in the coordination of educational, transitional and vocational and life-relevant programming, under the oversight of the Program Coordinator I at the Douglass Developmental Disabilities Center Adult Program.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
  • Supervises university undergraduate practicum students.
  • Contributes to inter-department activities as related to educational, vocational or life-relevant assessment, intervention and transition.
  • Provides immediate classroom supervision and support.

Qualifications


Minimum Education and Experience
  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree from an approved facility.
Certifications/Licenses
  • Valid NJ driver’s license required for community programming.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Ability to work with individuals with autism in an ABA program environment.
  • Demonstrated competence with behavioral technology, data management, goal assessment and planning, family programming and paraprofessional supervision.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of, and experience with computers and computer software.
  • Defensive driving certification/CPR certification.
  • 12 months experience with individualized programming within a broad curriculum including behavioral, transitional and life skills instruction utilizing a team approach to planning and service delivery.

  • Knowledge or, and experience with computers and computer software.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
  • Employee must be physically active and be on feet most of the day.
  • Duties may involve running and monitoring on job sites with adults with autism 21 years or older), driving vans or other vehicles.
  • Following training must be physically capable of safely providing crisis management techniques including restraining, lifting, blocking individuals with challenging behavior.
  • Crowded and moderately noisy conditions with children, adolescents, adults, and staff moving about.
Special Conditions
  • The qualified candidate must successfully complete a background check, including criminal check and fingerprinting, mandatory drug testing, motor vehicle check, reference checks, and completion of a medical/ health physical and Mantoux test.
  • In accordance with New Jersey State law, applicants must agree to undergo and authorize the University to conduct fingerprint, criminal history and/or child abuse record checks with various law enforcement agencies, including, but not limited to: the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Identification Division and/or the New Jersey Division of State Police, Bureau of Identification. Applicants must also assume any costs incurred by the university associated with the background investigations, whether required by statute or not.
  • In accordance with state mandated requirements, a Mantoux test will be administered to the successful applicant to verify the absence of tuberculosis. In addition, the successful applicant, at the cost of the University, will be required to be inoculated against Hepatitis B unless the successful applicant waives this vaccination in writing.
  • Clean driving record.

Immunization Requirements
