Minimum Qualifications
- The Fieldwork Coordinator/Instructor must have a minimum of a master’s degree in biology, life/health sciences, or a related field.
- Must have at least three (3) years of experience as a research site study coordinator, clinical research associate, clinical data manager, clinical safety professional, or other clinical research professionals in a pharmaceutical company, a medical device company, contract research organization, clinical research site, or academic institution.
- Must have at least one (1) year of teaching experience at an undergraduate or graduate level, or in the training of clinical research staff in a professional setting.
- Must possess formal certification by a clinical research professional organization (such as the Society of Clinical Research Associates, the Association of Clinical Research Professionals, the Society of Clinical Data Management, the Regulatory Affairs Professionals Society, or other clinical research professional organization) within 2 years of appointment to the position, or must demonstrate competency through a combination of years of industry experience and a record of participation, publications and/or presentations to pertinent professional organizations within the last 3 years.

Essential Functions
The Field Coordinator/Instructor of the Clinical Trials Research Associate (CTRA) program is responsible for the planning, delivery, and evaluation of classroom and field instruction, and for providing related services and support activities required for optimal student learning and effective educational programming. As a member of the CTRA faculty, the field coordinator/instructor is also accountable for assisting and supporting the program director and/or department dean, as needed, in meeting the instructional and curricular requirements of the program, department, and division.
Job Duties
Oversee and manage the CTRA fieldwork program
- Be the liaison between fieldwork preceptors at affiliate organizations and institutions and the CTRA program by scheduling and monitoring student fieldwork rotations;
- Assign appropriate fieldwork rotations to assure fair and equal scheduling of students for all field-related activities;
- Ensure students complete pre-fieldwork prerequisites, fieldwork orientation, required screenings, and any site-specific activities required prior to the start of fieldwork
- Hold regular meetings with fieldwork preceptors to discuss expectations, evaluate student progress, and ensure site responsibilities are met
- Make regular visits to each affiliated fieldwork site to assess the adequacy of student training and preceptor oversight
- Utilize in-person and virtual networking skills to identify and recruit to new fieldwork sites
- Work with Health and Wellness staff to develop and maintain site affiliation agreements
- Maintain fieldwork documentation for clinical auditing purposes
Teach all courses as assigned, for the full duration of scheduled instruction;
- Teach contact hours according to instructor teaching load expectations (currently 12-15 credit/contact hours)
- Be fully prepared with course syllabus and instructional plans for each class session in accordance with the stated objectives of the course;
- Enforce academic policies and procedures of the College and the department at all times, and complying with all other institutional rules and regulations pertinent to classroom instruction and general employment;
- Contribute to the development, implementation and evaluation of competency-based education and utilize available educational resources for the evaluation, improvement of instruction and the development of teaching materials;
- Become proficient in the College’s Learning Management System (LMS)
- Be available during posted out-of-class hours to students requiring additional assistance;
Actively support CTRA program activities and college-wide initiatives
- Provide academic advising and registration activities each semester. Serve as educational advisor to assigned students as required and as otherwise requested or needed by individual students.
- Become proficient in advising technologies including Colleague, WebAdvisor, and Student Self Service.
- Assist in the recruitment of students by participation in recruitment activities on and off campus;
- Participate in program, departmental, divisional, and instructional meetings and other announced activities;
- Take advantage of in-service training and other opportunities for continued professional development, including attendance at off-campus activities, as feasible, and generally staying abreast of developments in the field of instruction;
- Fulfill committee assignments and other special appointments at the College, as well as, the community-at-large, and otherwise give appropriate support to institutional endeavors;
- Maintain posted office, advising, and on-campus hours sufficient to fulfill all contracted duties and individual professional obligations, as well as to meet the needs of the program, department, division, and the College;
- Assume other necessary responsibilities and perform additional tasks as assigned by the program director and/or department dean in meeting the needs of the program, department, division, and the College.

Required Working Hours
A minimum of a 40-hour work week as determined with the supervisor to allow the employee to fulfill the assigned duties and responsibilities, including occasional evening and weekend hours.Job Type
