The Department of Medicine has an exciting opportunity for a Full-time Post Doctoral Associate. The candidate will design and conduct highly specialized and advanced simulations (FEA, CFD), including coronary artery stents, and structural heart interventions.
Design, conduct, and analyze solid mechanical simulations and computational fluid dynamics studies of coronary and structural heart interventions.
Maintain computer database of research data, tabulate and display data for presentation in research conferences and for manuscript preparation, use graphics and statistical software to analyze and present data; supervise other personnel in the laboratory to coordinate research efforts for increased efficiency; participate in the training of fellows, residents, students, and volunteer workers as needed.
Search pertinent scientific literature as needed.

Ph.D. in relevant field
Excellent knowledge of computer science, solid mechanics, FEA, CFD, or equivalent field.
Proficiency in one or multiple finite element analysis software (e.g., ABAQUS, LS-Dyna, ANSYS), and in computational fluid dynamic software (e.g., Fluent, CFX).
Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
Strong communication and cooperation in a scientific team.
Skill in collecting, organizing, and analyzing data.
Ability to recognize, analyze, and solve a variety of problems.
Ability to exercise sound judgment in making critical decisions.
