General Description
A wonderful opportunity is available at Niagara County Community College as we are searching for a dynamic Assistant Director to assist in the transformation of our Foundation department This is a full time, 12-month Administrator position funded by the NCCC Foundation. This position reports to the Director of Development of the NCCC Foundation, Inc.

The Assistant Director will work closely with the Director to develop cultivation, solicitation and stewardship to a variety of donors. Under the direction of the Development Director, the Assistant Director provides oversight and general management of programs, projects and events.

Typical Work Activities
1. Serve as resource for NCCC Foundation Board and Alumni Committee to advance Foundation goals.
2. Plan, coordinate, and implement alumni/donor engagement and fundraising efforts, including an annual campaign, solicitation pieces, and other activities in conjunction with the NCCC Foundation Board, Alumni Committee, and Development Director.
3. Develop and maintain an on-line giving program including management of the Foundation and Alumni webpages, Facebook, and other social media.
4. Plan and coordinate Foundation and alumni communications; including writing/editing of letters/newsletters/magazines, assigned areas of the annual report, social media, and other forms of communication.
5. Assist with the budgeting, planning, and coordination of events including signature events.
6. Develop, manage and execute campus fundraising campaigns, including the cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of faculty and staff.
7. Plan and coordinate scholarship committee meetings, including the Distinguished Student Scholarship program, student notification, and donor stewardship reports.
8. Assist in maintaining accurate financial records in Raiser’s Edge.
9. Maintain alumni and donor database.
10. Conduct preliminary research on prospective corporate, foundation, and individual donors.
11. Serve on various NCCC committees and attends professional meetings.
12. Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Functions
Must be able to speak to groups and to relate with a diverse group of senior College officials, alumni, community and corporate leaders. Ability to make presentations and develop written, printed, and electronic communications. Knowledge and use of Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Blackbaud Raisers Edge database management, Ability to travel locally and work on nights and weekends on occasion.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree;
  • Three years paid experience in employment with a not for profit organization
  • Hands-on experience in fund raising with a proven track record of success,
  • Strong facility and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PPT, etc.),
  • Strong written communications skills with particular emphasis and experience in news writing and persuasive writing,
  • Strong oral communication skills including demonstrated experience in public speaking,
  • Excellent time management skills and a commitment to serving the college community.
  • Possession of a valid NYS Driver’s License

Desirable Qualifications
  • Master’s Degree;
  • Experience working in higher education,
  • Experience with Raisers Edge,
  • Able to work with diverse groups and engage in interpersonal contact with a wide variety of internal and external constituencies,
  • Experience with fund-raising and foundation/development.
