Research Technician, Case Lab

Job Description

RESEARCH TECHNICIAN, Biology-Case Lab, to join a new research team studying cell signaling. The lab uses quantitative experimental approaches from biochemistry, molecular biophysics, and cell biology to study transmembrane signaling pathways and how they are misregulated in diseases like cancer. The work will involve molecular cloning, protein expression, protein purification, and biochemical experiments. Will also assist with day-to-day operational tasks, including inventory management, safety training and compliance, general lab management, and reagent maintenance.  

Job Requirements:
REQUIRED:  high school diploma or its equivalent; exposure to a research lab, which may include experience gained as an undergraduate; basic knowledge of general laboratory practices and procedures; excellent organizational, problem-solving, analytical, time-management, and verbal and written communication skills; demonstrated attention to detail; self-direction/motivation; practiced documentation skills; awareness of and ability to follow safety procedures and maintain a safe work environment; and the ability to work in a rapidly evolving work environment involving concurrent projects and responsibilities. PREFERRED:  bachelor’s degree that includes coursework in biology, biochemistry, and/or chemistry; and experience with molecular cloning and protein purification.   Job #22503-4
