POSITION SUMMARY

We are looking for a Lead Cloud Solutions Architect with a strong background in Azure administration, security, and data solutions to join our team. The Lead Cloud Solutions Architect will report to the Senior Director of Strategy and Architecture and will work closely with project managers, developers, and other stakeholders to design, implement, and manage Microsoft Azure-based solutions that meet business requirements and technical specifications. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of Azure services, security best practices, and data storage and compute technologies and will develop, document, and promulgate Azure best practices across the I&A department and our clients.

Responsibilities

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design, implement and manage cloud-based solutions using Microsoft Azure, including virtual machines, networking, storage, security, and other Azure services. Services we rely on include Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure Databricks, and many others, along with secure networking for PHI-containing solutions.
  • Work with project managers, developers, and other stakeholders to develop solutions that meet business requirements and technical specifications
  • Ensure solutions are secure and comply with corporate and industry standards and regulations. Implement routine security vulnerability scans.
  • Optimize cloud-based solutions for performance, scalability, and cost-effectiveness
  • Establish best practices for Azure resource naming/tagging required to provide visibility into project-level Azure costs. Establish cost monitoring processes, dashboards, and reports.
  • Establish and oversee a ticketing system for Azure architecture, provisioning, and administration requests
  • Troubleshoot issues and provide timely resolution to incidents and service requests
  • Create and maintain technical documentation and diagrams for cloud-based solutions
  • Keep up to date with emerging technologies and best practices in cloud computing

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Supervise existing contractors. Potential for direct reports as demand increases.

Qualifications

MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field
  • Minimum 7 years of combined experience as a software developer or solution architect
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in cloud architecture and solution design with at least 2 years on Microsoft Azure
  • At least two of the following certifications:
    • Azure Administrator Associate
    • Azure Security Engineer Associate
    • Azure Data Engineer Associate
  • Experience with DevOps practices using Azure DevOps, ARM Templates, and Terraform
  • Strong knowledge of Azure services, security, data storage, and data processing technologies
  • Demonstrable experience with cloud infrastructure, networking, and security architecture
  • Understanding of enterprise application integration, distributed systems, and microservices architecture
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Azure Solution Architect Expert certification
  • Experience with Azure AI and Machine Learning services
  • Experience with Snowflake
  • Solutions architecture, security, and administration experience on Amazon Web Services and/or Google Cloud Platform
