Job Summary

The Specialist II will need to perform intermediate level secretarial duties that could include: compiling and typing correspondence, reports, and minutes from written or dictated material; maintaining records and files, answering phones, taking messages, scheduling meetings, and dealing with parent students. They may also provide specific departmental information upon request.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties

The Specialist II will be able to manage office affairs and support the Child Care Manager. Will need strong typing skills, customer service skills and need to be available for licensing support that may include some house cleaning responsibilities, as it is essential to strict licensing standards. Maintaining child records, immunization records, and licensing records are mandatory.

The Specialist II will support our accreditation process by reading criteria, examining evidence and documenting evidence via portfolios. Must have a friendly and professional demeanor, be detail oriented, and organized while also being flexible. Applicant should be comfortable with multi-tasking, and also able to respond to the needs of children, if necessary.

Assisting with serving food, aiding with classroom ratios, and purchasing food may be necessary.

Minimum Qualifications

Must pass BCI Federal Background Check
Must speak and read English fluently.
Knowledge of Word, Excel, and computer literate.
Applicant must pass a TB test.
Applicant must pass a be able to lift children, get on children’s level,
Applicant must pass a basic physical.

Preferred Qualifications

Familiarity with the Child Care Licensing and the Federal Food Program.
Spanish Speaking

Ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of diverse people, ability, culture, ethnic background, to maintain good working relationships across the College.
