Responsibilities

The Perini Family Survivors’ Center at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute is seeking to hire a per diem health Research Assistant.  This is a remote position, and it is anticipated that it would involve 4-8 hours of work per week, primarily evenings and weekends. The Center’s research is focused on the psychosocial and health outcomes of adult and childhood cancer survivors, including posttraumatic stress, insomnia, and sexual health. Currently, the Center is recruiting participants for two NIH-funded studies evaluating single-session educational interventions for cancer survivors experiencing insomnia.

The principal role of the Research Assistant on these studies will be to deliver 1-on-1 health education interventions to study participants remotely via Zoom. Additional responsibilities may include corresponding with potential participants via email, conducting telephone interviews to confirm eligibility and assisting with database management.

Qualifications

  • Graduate work in psychology, health, social work, education, nursing or related field required;
  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • Experience with health or behavioral research preferred.
  • The ideal applicant will have prior experience as an instructor, tutor, or coach, and be available to work evening and/or weekend hours.
  • Although a completely remote position, candidates must reside in a New England state.

At Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, we work every day to create an innovative, caring, and inclusive environment where every patient, family, and staff member feels they belong.  As relentless as we are in our mission to reduce the burden of cancer for all, we are equally committed to diversifying our faculty and staff.  Cancer knows no boundaries and when it comes to hiring the most dedicated and diverse professionals, neither do we. If working in this kind of organization inspires you, we encourage you to apply.
