Human Resources Coordinator

Job Description

HUMAN RESOURCES COORDINATOR, Institute for Medical Engineering and Science (IMES), to act as first point of contact and provide wide-ranging, responsive, and transparent support for the human resources (HR) function of a busy headquarters office. Will help to coordinate HR activities including responding to inquiries, facilitating recruitment and onboarding, coordinating rewards and recognition, diversity and inclusion, performance management, and compensation. Will also handle complex and diverse duties for multiple projects and programs.

Job Requirements:

REQUIRED:  bachelor’s degree in a related field; at least two years of HR experience, preferably in an academic environment; general knowledge of the HR function, including employment law, recruitment, employee relations, compensation, and onboarding; proficiency with Microsoft Office; meticulous attention to detail; initiative and ability to take action to address needs and proactively anticipate issues anticipate consequences of actions, potential problems, or opportunities for change; excellent organizational, interpersonal, and written and oral communication (including spelling, punctuation, and grammar) skills; ability to distill, interpret, and convey complicated administrative processes, both verbally and in writing; ability to manage a variety of tasks concurrently, work independently, and remain flexible as situations demand without sacrificing quality; tact, diplomacy, and discretion with confidential information; interest and ability to resolve problems in a thorough and timely manner; ability to work under minimal supervision and to anticipate and act on the needs of the direct managers and other stakeholders; ability to manage a high volume of work.  PREFERRED:  experience working with HR and payroll systems (e.g., SAP, Brio, Kronos) and FileMaker Pro, and MIT experience or experience in higher education.  Job #22487-6
