Full Job Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Responsible for overall project management of the Basic Needs for Postsecondary Students in accordance to Federal Legislation and Regulations, EDGAR, the Office of Management and Budget Guidelines, and Uniform Guidance.
  • Oversee the establishment of the Advocacy and Resource Center with offices on the Muscle Shoals and Phil Campbell campuses.
  • Manage the operations of the Advocacy and Resource Center, including an on-campus food pantry with locations on the Muscle Shoals and Phil Campbell campuses.
  • Develop project activities and services, budget, management plan, implementation plan, and evaluation plan.
  • Ensure project objectives are met in accordance the guidelines of the U.S. Department of Education.
  • Identify, recruit, and screen prospective project participants.
  • Ensure proper documentation of eligibility is obtained and on file for each participant.
  • Develop project services and activities designed to meet the basic needs of eligible NW-SCC students within the guidelines of the grant.
  • Promote the mission and services of the Basic Needs for Postsecondary Students and Advocacy and Resource Center.
  • Oversee the collection of evaluation data for the basic needs for Postsecondary Students grant, including monthly progress reports, annual performance reports. and other records of performance.
  • Work with the Assistant Dean of Workforce Development, Institutional Effectiveness, and Advancement in the evaluation of the program.
  • Maintain a monthly budget.
  • Create and maintain an updated resource guide detailing resources available to students in the College’s service area.
  • Work with the Restricted Funds Accountant to ensure all applicable federal, state, and College budgetary requirements are met.
  • Maintain extensive partnerships with local agencies with a shared goal of meeting the basic needs of students.
  • Coordinate contacts with and make referrals to local agencies that can assist students with basic needs.
  • Assist adult learners transitioning from the Adult Education program into for-credit enrollment.
  • Provide mentorship and coaching to grant participants.

 

Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Education, Behavioral Sciences, or related field with a minimum of three years’ experience in designing, managing, or implementing projects serving underserved populations OR Master’s Degree in Social Work, Education, Behavioral Sciences, or related field with a minimum of one year experience in designing, managing, or implementing projects serving underserved populations, required.
  • Background similar to target population, preferred.
  • Demonstrated familiarity with federal regulations and grant implementation, preferred.
  • Personal or professional experience supervising, training, and evaluating staff, preferred.

SALARY: Compensation is in accordance with the Alabama Community College System’s Salary Schedule C3-2 ($53,799 - $81,554).
