Summary of Job Duties:
Work will focus on artificial intelligence and robotics. The selected candidate will:
(1) utilize the state-of-the-art artificial intelligence, robotics, and manufacturing techniques to design mobile autonomous surface swabbing platforms to facilitate biosensing and food safety applications in the poultry processing plant and (2) hyperspectral imaging for detecting foreign objects like plastics in chicken. Will work under the guidance of Dr. Dongyi Wang and Dr. Jeyam Subbiah and collaborate with other faculties from University of Arkansas and Georgia Tech to design the experiment, write high-quality manuscripts, mentor graduate and undergraduate students, coordinate research and extension teams, and participate in grant writing.

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications

Ph.D. degree in one of the following disciplines: Biosystems/Agricultural Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Food Science or a closely related field.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Must have strong track record in robotic control and manipulation, path planning and/or computer vision. Must be familiar with commonly used programming language and open source libraries or platforms. Expected to have good communication and technical writing skills.
