Technical Associate I, Lewis Neuroimaging Research Lab

Job Description

TECHNICAL ASSOCIATE I, Research Laboratory of Electronics (RLE)-Lewis Neuroimaging Research Lab, to join the Lewis Lab, an interdisciplinary and collaborative lab focused on advanced brain imaging techniques and the neuroscience of sleep.  Will assist with all aspects of neuroimaging research (e.g., EEG, fMRI), including patient interactions.  The primary activities will include recruiting and screening participants for neuroimaging studies; conducting complex neuroimaging studies with multiple types of data acquisition; lab operations (e.g., supply purchasing, record-keeping, etc.); contributing to writing IRB protocols and amendments tracking human subject enrollment and QI tracking; and contributing to processing and analysis of neuroimaging data.  Data volumes are large (e.g., >5 GB for one recording session, >200 GB per study) and analysis can include signal processing, image processing, and timeseries statistics. Will also perform specialized simultaneous EEG-fMRI procedures and specialized data processing tasks for neuroimaging data, including programming and data analysis; conduct literature reviews; and provide other project assistance as needed.

Job Requirements:

REQUIRED:  bachelor's degree in neuroscience, biomedical engineering, computer science, psychology, or related field; two years of experience (may include experience gained as an undergraduate); ability to enter MRI scanner suite; programming experience, ideally with MATLAB or Python; good interpersonal skills and comfort working with human participants; discretion handling sensitive/confidential information; strong organizational and written and oral communication skills; flexibility; self-motivation and a proactive approach to responsibilities; and attention to detail.  Job #22409

Please note that since the lab studies sleep, experiments sometimes take place on evenings and weekends.

This is a one-year term position with the possibility of a second year.
