Job Summary
Responsibilities
Applies genomics tools developed in the He laboratory to map various RNA modifications during mouse early development.
Develops new in vivo and in vitro models to utilize newly developed sequencing techniques to dissect biological processes.
Manages mouse colonies, including administrative expertise.
Research and summarizes findings from animal models in order to formulate a translational approach to analyze biological mechanisms of the disease(s) of interest.
Design clinical assays and implement regulatory-based design control.
Collaborate with clinicians to design studies utilizing clinical specimens to further refine the assay for clinical needs.
Research and summarizes findings from biomarker development with regard to assay development and underlying biological mechanisms of the disease(s) of interest.
Oversee all aspects of the project and interface with technicians, postdocs, graduate students, and undergraduate students.
Serves as a resource for collecting data and performing analysis. Contributes to facilitating and promoting a research project by providing scientific or intellectual information.
Reviews laboratory protocols and training on new techniques. Manage complex data sets for research.
Performs other related work as needed.

Ph.D. in developmental biology.
Experience:
Research experience in epigenetics.
Postdoctoral experience.
Technical Skills or Knowledge:
Work with biological specimens.
In-vitro diagnostic assay development or clinical assay development.
Molecular biology and genomics.
Preferred Competencies
Strong background in molecular biology, biochemistry, chemical biology, and genomics (or related fields).
Highly motivated Ph.D. interested in translational biology, cancer biology, and NGS-based technologies.
Attention to detail.
Strong organizational skills.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
