The Department of Psychology in the College of Arts and Sciences has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Postdoctoral Associate (with a Ph.D./Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology, Counseling Psychology, or School Psychology) to work in Coral Gables, FL. Dr. Jill Ehrenreich-May is seeking to fill a Postdoctoral Associate position to support the work of the Child and Adolescent Mood and Anxiety Treatment Program at the University of Miami (https://www.miami.edu/childanxiety ). The Child and Adolescent Mood and Anxiety Treatment Program is a clinical research lab dedicated to the study of novel psychotherapy models for youth with anxiety, depression and related emotional disorders. The postdoctoral fellow will be specifically responsible for clinical research and service delivery both in CAMAT (1/2 time) and as part of an Institute of Education Sciences (IES)-funded project conducted in collaboration with the John T. MacDonald Foundation-University of Miami School Health Initiative (https://med.miami.edu/departments/pediatrics/community-programs/school-health-initiative ), scholars in the Department of Public Health Sciences and Psychology, and stakeholders in Miami-Dade County Public Schools. Specifically, this primarily clinically oriented postdoctoral associate will deliver an adapted cognitive behavior therapy groups in with racially and ethnically diverse high school students with elevated anxiety or depression symptoms attending Title 1 schools in Miami for the IES-funded portion of this position.

 

The applicant should demonstrate both experience with and interest in clinic- and school-based intervention or prevention of youth psychopathology, and evidence-based interventions for racial/ethnic minority children, and to support education and well-being. The applicant will be required to affirm and empower diverse individuals and work collaboratively with both collaborators, schools, and community members. The applicant should demonstrate experience with and a commitment to serving children and families from diverse racial/ethnic and immigrant communities, and children and families from low-income backgrounds. Although not required, applicants with conversational fluency in Spanish is preferred.


This is a full-time research position with up to 2 years of guaranteed funding. The primary work location of this position is on the Coral Gables campus; however, this role will require traveling to and engaging in data collection in local Miami schools and their surrounding communities, including areas in North Miami, North Miami Beach and Overtown. 
Core Responsibilities:

The Postdoctoral Associate supports clinical research activities at the University, under the supervision of a faculty member, in order to advance their knowledge and/or be documented by scientific publications. 

  •  Works and collaborates on clinical research studies related to field of study. 
  • Ensures the execution and implementation of clinical research and/or development in collaboration with a research team. 
  • Maintains substantial knowledge of state-of-the-art principles and theories. 
  •  Contributes to scientific literature and conferences, when appropriate.


Lab Specific Responsibilities

  • Maintain all research records in a timely manner on interventions delivered
  • Development and maintenance of RedCap surveys, or IRB applications relevant to clinical research
  • Supervise project staff and oversee day-to-day project activities 
  •  Lead weekly meetings with team members
  •  Preparation of quarterly and annual project reports to funder
  • Other responsibilities as necessary to ensure the successful execution of projects


Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Ph.D. or Psy.D. in Psychology (clinical, counseling, school) or related field (in education, public health) 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required, in addition to a motivation for collaborative and independent research and the openness, desire, and curiosity to learn new skills and pursue new research opportunities. 
  • Those with experience and training in evidence-based psychotherapies for youth or community-based participatory models with adolescents will receive preference.
