Job Description

Open Postdoctoral position, faculty mentor Anusha Kalbasi

The Kalbasi laboratory at Stanford University is recruiting a post-doctoral scholar for independent research in the area of cancer immunology and T-cell based immunotherapy. The funded proposal utilizes synthetic biology tools to understand how T cell intrinsic responses to common gamma chain signaling shape in vivo anti-tumor efficacy of tumor-specific T cells. The work involves in vivo (mouse) and in vitro models of T cell therapy, single cell computational approaches, and advanced microscopy / image analysis to achieve both basic and translational goals. Further details of the proposal will be provided after initial inquiry.
The Kalbasi laboratory is a translational laboratory with an interest in advancing the treatment of solid tumors, with a disease emphasis on sarcoma. The lab is actively seeking approaches to overcome immunotherapy resistance due to T cell-intrinsic, myeloid-intrinsic and tumor-intrinsic factors. The lab also has vested interest in understanding the immunologic basis of response and resistance to radiation therapy, a widely used therapeutic tool in sarcoma and cancer care. Strengths of the Kalbasi lab include extensive experience with models to study cancer-immune interactions, access to and experience with synthetic biology tools, expertise in biology related to T cells, myeloid cells, sarcoma and radiation therapy, and access to relevant clinical samples.
Stanford is a leader in the care of patients with sarcoma, with a vibrant sarcoma research environment that spans basic, translational and clinical work. The Kalbasi lab is housed within the Department of Radiation Oncology within the Stanford School of Medicine, and is part of the Stanford Cancer Institute and is also affiliated with the Parker Institute for Cancer Immunotherapy.
Specific Responsibilities include: experimental design, data acquisition, data processing, statistical computation, methods development, data interpretation, literature review and manuscript/grant preparation.
Additional Duties:
