The Position

We are looking for a highly motivated, productive, and talented postdoctoral fellow with a strong background in Immunology, fibrosis and/or tissue wound healing response. The fellow will join a team focusing on pathophysiology of pro-inflammatory and/or fibrotic diseases in the Immunology Discovery Department. Research endeavors will involve implementation of cutting-edge approaches to uncover the underpinnings of pro-inflammatory/fibrotic diseases and identification of novel targets for therapeutic intervention. The projects will involve working closely with groups across different functional expertise within Genentech and external collaborators. This is a hands-on laboratory position with abundant opportunity for collaboration with other researchers in a highly dynamic and interdisciplinary environment.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • A recent or pending PhD graduate in any relevant life science field.
  • Hands-on research experience in pro-inflammatory and/or fibrotic diseases will be highly desirable, but not mandatory.
  • Successful candidates will be expected to make intellectual as well as technical contributions by leading cross-functional projects.
  • Qualified candidates should also be adept at independently designing, executing and interpreting experiments and presenting results at intra-/inter-departmental meetings.
  • Good oral/written communication skills in a highly collaborative environment will be expected.

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of California is $64,800 and $120,300.  Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.  This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.
