We are searching for candidates that meet the required qualifications and experience and are able to perform the essential duties and responsibilities.
 
Job Summary:

Provide technical assistance to consortium members regarding policies and responsibilities related to grant requirements. Provide information and assistance with academic and degree counseling, transfer to and from four-year and other schools, TSI testing, dual credit, the Admissions process, and unofficial evaluation of credits earned from other schools. Supply support services to assist satisfactory academic performance. Coordinate and distribute information related to grant funding, reporting, and student eligibility requirements. Organize student and financial reporting in accordance to policies put in place by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB). Track student awards, update student databases, and initiate and maintain effective communication.

***This position is 100% grant-funded. Therefore, this position is contingent upon continued external funding.***

 
Required Qualifications:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Advise students within the general student population, as well as special populations (including Veterans, International Students, and ACCESS students) regarding program planning, course selection, schedule changes, transferability, and course withdrawals, as may be assigned.
  • Advise academically at-risk students regarding coursework and other college resources by which they can develop the academic skills required to successfully complete college-level work.
  • Research degree plans, advise on transfer guides to university partnerships, advise students on Collin College policies, student handbook rules and procedures, and best practices.
  • Perform unofficial degree evaluations in order to effectively and accurately advise incoming transfer students about their remaining courses in order to fulfill the requirements of the District and in order for them to transfer into their major.
  • Disseminate grant information regarding policies, procedures and reporting requirements.
  • Provide training to consortium members related to policies and procedures for meeting grant requirements.
  • Keep abreast of new/updated policies, procedures and deadlines associated with the grant program.
  • Verify student eligibility for funding through student information systems.
  • Communicate with students by phone/email and work with verified students to complete the grant application.
  • Coordinate and assist with grant marketing.
  • Collaborate with campus partners (Financial Aid, Enrollment Services, etc.).
  • Manage and coordinate campus partners in awarding students funding per grant allowance.
  • Track and monitor students' support and financial awards provided.
  • Update student databases and provide status reports to the consortium grant team.
  • Complete student, program, and financial reports to meet grant requirements.

  • Assist grant manager in other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands, Working Conditions and Physical Effort
Sedentary Work - Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, a negligible amount of force frequently, and/or constantly having to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met. Positions in this class typically require talking, hearing, seeing, grasping, standing, walking and repetitive motions. Relatively free from unpleasant environmental conditions or hazards. Office environment. Little physical effort required.

Requirements
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution and two (2) years of related experience required. Experience in coordinating and managing programs/grants preferred.
