Full Job Description 

Seward County Community College is a two-year institution offering 45 programs of study, including Adult Basic Education, certificate programs and Associate of Arts, Science, General Studies and Applied Sciences degrees. Ranked in the top 5% of more than 1,100 accredited community colleges in the U.S. by the Aspen Institute, SCCC serves a student body of 2,500+ students ranging in age from 15 to 85, in a county with the highest foreign-born percentage population in the U.S., and a rural service area of about 50,997 in seven Southwest Kansas counties as well as neighboring counties in southeastern Colorado, the Oklahoma and Texas Panhandles.

 

Responsibilities

The Executive Director of Enrollment is a high-energy leadership position responsible for the overall planning, tracking and implementation of an enrollment process that includes enrollment research, targeted supervision to the offices of admissions and outreach which include developing and maintaining the college enrollment management plan. This position also provides leadership and enrollment through leadership of recruitment activities, admissions procedures, and effectively guiding students through the college enrollment process. Experience teaching, training, or supporting people in the use of technology resources is desired. The Executive Director of Enrollment Management must have superior communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to remain focused and organized while managing numerous concurrent and even competing projects and demands. The Executive Director must be a strong collaborator, working well with local and surrounding high schools as well as colleagues across campus ensuring that high levels of customer service are met.

Essential Functions

  • Leads the creation and implementation of a strategic admissions and recruitment plan that will effectively analyze and evaluate, promote, communicate, and recruit prospective students to campus. Participates in the development of marketing and communication strategies, especially for new students and their families. Collaborate with college leaders to produce short and longterm enrollment goals and effective recruitment strategies aimed at optimizing enrollment opportunities in targeted programs and for diverse groups of students.
  • Supervise with an open and collegial management style. Ensures knowledge and training of SCCC practices and policies for all enrollment staff and contributes to training processes. Ensures excellent customer service along with positive presentation of SCCC to prospective students, the campus community, and the public.
  • Provide leadership for all aspects of enrollment, including analysis and evaluation of enrollment data, ensuring the integrity of data entry and admissions processes, student application updates and admissions process changes.
  • Leads student recruitment efforts and initiates campus events for prospective students. Promotes an inclusive campus environment where all students are welcomed and given information to assist with the successful transition to college and enrollment.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Director of Public Relations and Marketing in the development of admissions marketing materials, marketing strategies and advertising for specific target markets. Ensures translation of identified enrollment materials into Spanish.
  • Oversees the enrollment marketing, admissions and outreach budget and maintains fiscal integrity of the admissions office. Serve as admissions subject matter expert in the operations of Ellucian Banner.
  • Chairs enrollment management committee and serves on various campus committees. Works some evenings and Saturdays, when required.

Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree required. Two to five years of experience in recruiting, admissions or similar or related experience required. Master's degree preferred. Postsecondary education administration education a plus.
