Stanford University, its Division of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition (Peds GI) and the Husain Lab are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Postdoctoral Fellow to join us in our study of the immunology of the pancreas. Some of the broad questions our research group is asking includes probing the deep immune subtypes that differentiate various forms, including hereditary forms, of pancreatic inflammation and whether some of these immune subtypes are druggable so as to alleviate inflammation and cancer progression in the pancreas.
The applicant must hold a PhD or MD or equivalent qualification, with training in modern techniques in immunology or a closely related discipline.
The Husain Lab is located in the beautiful new Stanford Research Park campus of Stanford University, at 1701 Page Mill. The Husain Lab is embedded in the fabric of a thriving scientific community at Stanford, consisting of over 8,000 contiguous acres, with a 1.93 billion dollar annual research budget and a 28.9 billion dollar endowment. Nineteen Nobel laureates are currently members of the Stanford community as are 167 members of the National Academy of Science, among the almost 2300 faculty. We are seeking a self-motivated individual with excellent communication skills and a strong work ethic. The individual will conduct independent research as well as closely work with others and must be a great team player. The individual will work directly with immunologist Dr. Bomi Lee, PhD, and the Pancreas Immunology section, while being an integral part of the wider lab community.
