Description

The Department of French Literature, Thought and Culture invites applications for three postdoctoral lecturer positions for the academic year 2023-24, pending administrative and budget approval. We are seeking to hire a recent NYU graduate with a strong record of teaching and research, relevant professional experience, familiarity with the student body, and a commitment to questions of equity and diversity.

Responsibilities include teaching three undergraduate courses per semester. One of the six courses may be a core course, pending availability. In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary for this position is $50,000.

Qualifications

The department will entertain applications from students who received their Ph.D. from the NYU Department of French Literature, Thought, and Culture, between 2020 and 2023.

For students who will graduate in Summer 2023: if you are selected for a position, (1.) the department must receive by July 31 a signed Doctoral Thesis Reader Sheet from the primary adviser approving the dissertation for defense;

(2.) the document must also be completed and submitted to the committee by July 31; (3.) The dissertation must be successfully defended and deposited to the Graduate School in time for the September 2023 graduation deadlines.

Failure to meet any of these deadlines will result in a failure to meet the criteria for employment in a postdoctoral capacity in the Department.
