We are currently seeking a forward-thinking, inventive and results driven Postdoctoral Associate, Sr. within the lab of Dr. Robert Lefkowitz at Duke University in Durham, NC.  The Lefkowitz lab studies the molecular and regulatory properties of G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs), also known as seven transmembrane spanning receptors (7TMRs).  Current work in the lab focuses on understanding how GPCR cell signaling, by biased or unbiased as well as orthosteric or allosteric ligands, is mediated through GPCRs and their transducers, the G proteins and ?-arrestins.  The lab utilizes techniques ranging from biophysics to pharmacology to cell biology to in vivo animal disease models.

General Qualifications:

  • PhD within a related field
    • Background in structural biology strongly preferred
  • Effective communication skills, self-motivated, and a strong work ethic
  • Ability to work both independently and in a collaborative group environment
  • Experience with either X-Ray Crystallography or Cryo-Electron Microscopy required
