Job Summary

Postdoctoral positions in chemical biology, biochemistry, or cell biology are available in the Ahn Laboratory at the Department of Chemistry at Drexel University. The Ahn Lab studies redox chemistry and biology associated with protein cysteine glutathionylation in the biological models of cancers, heart diseases, and inflammation. We aim to develop and apply new chemical biology approaches for the proteomic identifications of protein glutathionylation and to uncover the regulatory function of protein glutathionylation associated with various biological models, including cancer, heart diseases, and inflammation. We utilize a variety of approaches, including chemical proteomics, protein biochemistry, cell biology, molecular biology, and animal models. The Ahn Lab is located in both the Chemistry and Biology Departments at Drexel University, where the candidate will be exposed to a broad range of scientific research. See more information at the Ahn lab webpage (https://chemahnlab.com )

We are looking for motivated and creative postdoctoral candidates interested in uncovering fundamental chemistry and biology in redox signaling. Strong research experience (as specified below) and excellent communication skills are required.

1) Candidate will work on developing and applying chemical proteomics in cellular and animal models to study protein glutathionylation. A candidate with research experience in chemical biology, along with protein biochemistry and cell biology, is preferred. Research experience in proteomics is a plus but not required.

2) Candidate will work on studying the functional effects of protein cysteine glutathionylation associated with inflammation. A candidate with research experience in inflammation and immune cells, along with protein biochemistry, molecular biology, and cell biology, is preferred.
