Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Project Coordinator I for the Voorhees Transportation Center. Reporting to the Executive Director and Business Manager III at Voorhees Transportation Center, the Project Coordinator I serves as Field Survey Manager to manage day-to-day activities at the survey scheduling center and ensure that the center operates without hindrance.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
  • Takes full responsibility for hiring, training, supervising and scheduling surveyors from conducting field surveys to entering data.
  • Ensures that all Rutgers protocols are maintained including Risk management, emergency procedures, insurance, etc.
  • Functions as data custodian for human subjects research participants.
  • Daily business processes associated with grants and special event funding as well as the logistics and implementation of center workshops and other events such as trainings, lecture series, meetings, and conferences; initiates as well as the logistics and implementation of center workshops and other events such as trainings, lecture series, meetings, and conference.
  • Initiates and oversees the promotion and marketing, including website and other electronic media; monitors expenditures within the budget constraints established for the event.
  • Manages venue/facility set-up and coordinates vendors on-site.
  • Oversees and coordinates hourly students associated with events and programs within VTC. This includes coordinating with the principal investigator the job posting and with the business staff on job announcements in ROCS and other outlets as needed; interviewing applicants as directed.
  • Managing the onboarding process and overseeing hourly employee administrative compliance with timekeeping, payroll, and travel reimbursement procedures.

Qualifications


Minimum Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree; or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
  • A minimum of two years of related experience.
Certifications/Licenses
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Excellent written and oral communication
  • Problem-solving skills, good organizational abilities, motivation, and flexibility are essential.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Access, Excel, Access) or comparable products
  • Ability to work with a great deal of independence and discretion and to keep sensitive matters confidential
  • Ability to handle a wide variety of tasks simultaneously
  • Sustained attention to detail while maintaining awareness of essential priorities
  • Strong capability of working autonomously to coordinate and provide recommendations for effective decision-making to meet project needs.
  • Experience in SciQuest, Expense Management System, PeopleSoft, ROCS, I-9 Verify, and Oracle Reports.
  • Must have a Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI) Program Certificate for Human Research.

Immunization Requirements
