Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:

The Perennial Grass Genetics and Breeding program in the Department of Horticulture at Iowa State University is seeking candidates for a postdoctoral research associate position to identify candidate genes for biotic and abiotic stresses in cool-season grasses using genomics tools. The successful candidate will help supervise graduate and undergraduate students.

Required Minimum Qualifications:

PhD in genetics, genomics, molecular biology or related field.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Demonstrated skills in transcriptome analysis in plants.
• Experience in linkage mapping and GWAS in plants.
• Demonstrated written skills with a good publication record in peer-review journals.
• Good verbal communication skills and experience presenting research in English.
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
