If so, we're looking for someone like you to join our team at APL.

 

  • We are seeking a tenacious RF communications engineer that is capable of developing concept designs, performing analyses, and leading experimentation activities for state-of-the-art Naval communication systems. 
  • As a member of our team, you'll apply your experience and educational background to advise the Navy and other DoD organizations on critical technology developments including digital array antennas, software defined radios, and advanced waveforms.
  • You will also perform analyses/modeling and conduct critical experiments to evaluate state-of-the-art technologies for applicability to Navy challenges. 
  • Candidates with a strong background in communication system theory with experience developing hardware systems are particularly sought.

Qualifications

You meet our minimum qualifications for the job if you...

  • Possess a BS degree or higher in electrical engineering or physics with 10 or more years of RF design experience such as, circuit, subsystem, and system-level engineering

  • Have at least 5 years of hands-on experience with RF system hardware implementation

  • Possess a strong analytical understanding of RF link analysis, modulation/demodulation theory, waveform tradeoffs, propagations effects, and antenna systems

  • Are able to obtain an Interim Secret level security clearance by your start date and can ultimately obtain a Secret or Top Secret level clearance. If selected, you will be subject to a government security clearance investigation and must meet the requirements for access to classified information. Eligibility requirements include U.S. citizenship.
  • Up to 10% local travel as needed.
  • Can demonstrate that you are fully vaccinated against COVID-19.   • Possess a MS degree or higher in electrical engineering or physics with 10 or more years of pertinent experience
  • Have a MS or are knowledgeable about the theory and design of phased array antennas
  • Have prior experience in DoD technology development or acquisition programs

  • Have experience with networking protocols
