Discovery Fellow, Mechanisms of Tumor Resistance (Pharmacology)

Novartis

Job Description

Job Description

1 purpose - to reimagine medicine! Come join the Novartis Institutes for Biomedical Research (NIBR) as a Discovery Postdoctoral Fellow and contribute to tackling one of the most pressing challenges in Oncology - tumor resistance.

NIBR is the innovation engine of Novartis. We collaborate across scientific and organizational boundaries, with a focus on powerful new technologies that have the potential to help produce therapeutic breakthroughs for patients.

Our Oncology Team in Cambridge, Massachusetts is seeking highly motivated and team-oriented Postdoctoral Fellows to form a Postdoctoral Hub that will focus on tumor plasticity and mechanisms of resistance to Ras/Raf/MAPK pathway therapies. The projects will combine multiple lines of investigation, including in vivo models, genetic screening, tumor microenvironment analysis, biochemical and cellular studies, molecular biology and transcriptomic profiling.

Candidates will join a vibrant scientific community and collaborate with experts across disciplines and platforms including data-science, translational oncology, and drug discovery. This is an outstanding opportunity to conduct innovative, interdisciplinary research expected to be published in leading journals. The postdoctoral term is up to 4 years and will be under direct mentorship of Drs. Shiva Malek, Vesselina Cooke, Carmine Fedele, Saskia Brachmann, Adelajda Hadzipasic and Erin Artin.

Specifically, we are seeking:

Two (2) postdoctoral fellows with good understanding of the mechanisms of oncogenic progression, signal transduction, and interplay between the tumor and its microenvironment, who are eager to learn new therapeutic approaches and/or combinatorial strategies using pre-clinical models.
