Summary

In an Ambulatory Care environment, assist Post Kidney-Transplant Coordinators and support staff in all aspects of the kidney transplant process, maintaining continuity of care through effective communication and collaboration with the multi-disciplinary team in all areas relating to evaluation and listing for kidney transplant.

Responsibilities*

Specific Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Provide support to Kidney Transplant Coordinators by arranging all aspects of post kidney transplant care  
  • Schedule follow-up transplant appointments for recipients in MI Chart
  • Obtain needed testing reports/records for coordinator to present to MD for review
  • Triage patient calls: accurately relay information to the coordinator in a timely manner in a time frame appropriate for situation.  
  • Obtain clinical information through Care Everywhere and GLHC that is needed for transplant follow-up care  
  • Maintain current demographics and other medical information on patients
  • Prepare/send out labs for recipient patients, these will be standard labs
  • Upload records received into MiChart
  • Clinic prep for all patient appointments
  • Manage fax server
  • Complete Prior Authorizations
  •  Manage Mi Chart in-basket messages
  • Take direction from nursing staff
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
  • Order entry following approved policies for labs and clinical testing needed for the post-kidney transplant patient.

Required Qualifications*

2-3 years’ experience in Outpatient Ambulatory setting and/or Secretarial experience, Word, Excel, MiChart and Aspect Phone system. Ability to work in an environment with multiple staff.  Demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills.  Has excellent attendance.

Must adhere to a high standard of personal and professional conduct; possess excellent customer service, interpersonal, and written and oral communication skills; and demonstrated ability to interact with a diverse population.

Must be an active team player with the ability to work independently; possess strong organization and prioritization skills; ability to handle multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment and demonstrated problem solving skills.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • General office experience; preferably in a medical setting
  • Candidate must have excellent verbal and written skills
  • Candidate must demonstrate team effort, be able to work independently, have good organizational and prioritization skills
  • Candidate must have an excellent attendance record
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • High School Diploma or GED

Work Schedule

Shift/Hours/Days:   Days/ 8:00AM – 4:30PM/ Monday – Friday (hours may vary)
