Position Summary/Purpose of Position:
The position will be the primary point of contact for the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources (AGNR) centralized payroll function for the Dean’s office, academic units, and college field operations. This will include but not limited to appointment creation, reviewand processing for faculty, staff and students and management of the Personnel and Human Resources system at the College level. The payroll manager will manage and coordinate allpayroll and associated functions for units reporting directly to the Dean, University of MarylandExtension and Maryland Agricultural Experiment Station field operations. Travel requests andexpense statements will also be managed by this position. This position coordinates directly withthe University of Maryland and AGNR Human Resources Offices.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Public Administration, Business Administration or a related field is required.
Experience:
A minimum of 7 years experience in a progressively responsible position with demonstrated experience in the areas of human resources (such as employee relations, benefits, compensation, etc), payroll, and/or accounting.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Excellent interpersonal, written, and communication skills.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Public Administration, Business Administration or a related field is required.
Experience:

- Master’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Public Administration, Business Administration or a related field.
- Experience in higher education with responsibilities in payroll, position management, and accounting systems.
- Knowledge and experience in PHR, WOW, ARES and eTerp.
- Demonstrated customer service experience a plus.
