Job Summary

Reporting to the Director of Educational Outreach, the Coordinator of Special Projects Educational Outreach is responsible for Managing and developing programs and courses to provide training, skills development, and enrichment to the citizens of Tarrant County.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Essential Performance Requirements*
  • Assists in planning, developing, executing, managing, and improving special projects, manages resources, and provides updates to departmental leadership
  • Coordinates with other administrators, staff, and offices
  • Serves on committees as directed and attends appropriate professional meetings, conferences, and workshops
  • Supports the Adult Education and Literacy (ABL) learning centers and workplace and campus sites
  • Assists with marketing and web page management
  • Coordinates with academic departments and outside contractors to implement components of the workforce education training to impact students’ job-seeking skills
  • Maintains accurate record keeping concerning students in accordance with established procedures for the college and/or funding entities
  • Liaison with workforce partners for labor market information and local area employment trends
  • Liaison with college and training providers for developing career pathway programs
  • Develops, implements, and maintains, high school equivalency courses on campus, workplace, community partner locations

General Supervision and Management
  • Provides leadership for a team comprised of instructional and administrative staff
  • Assists with coordination, management, and supervision of department employment activities including hiring, recruitment, training, payroll processing, and other departmental leadership functions

Service Excellence
  • Participates on behalf of the College in external community organizations and associations as assigned to support the essential performance requirements
  • Attends the workplace regularly, reports to work punctually, and follows a work schedule to keep up with the demands of the worksite
  • Completes all required training and professional development sessions sponsored through Tarrant County College (TCC)
  • Supports the values of the College: diversity, teaching excellence, student success, innovation, and creativity and service to the College
  • Supports the mission, values, and goals and principles of the College

Supervision
Works under the general supervision of the Director of Educational Outreach

*Performs Other Related Tasks as Required

Required Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Three (3) years’ working experience related to the Essential Performance Requirements
  • One (1) years’ experience supervising (e.g., managing, evaluating the performance of others; leading projects or processes)
  • Valid Texas drivers license and reliable transportation

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of workforce development services for special populations
  • Skilled with managing detailed for internal and external accountability
  • Skilled in excellent customer service and interpersonal skills with diverse populations
  • Skilled using applications and enterprise systems, including word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment and a setting that is diverse and urban
  • Ability to think critically to effectively solve and communicate problems in a fast-paced environment where the demands for work are varied, and unpredictable in scope and volume
  • Ability to analyze data and provide sound recommendations based on policy, procedure, practice, and existing regulations
  • Ability to delegate work appropriately to faculty and staff to meet College and campus deliverables
