Position Overview
Purpose/Description: Set up, operate and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment, monitor experiments and record results. Assist in collecting and analyzing biological samples. Assist biological and medical scientists in laboratories.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
* Knowledge and skills in using a range of software programs including but not limited to Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), SPSS, STATA.
* Ability to work independently.
* Ability to organize and prioritize tasks.
* Ability to communicate effectively; perform other administrative/clerical tasks.
* Aptitude in general laboratory procedures, techniques, and documentation.
* Willingness to acquire competence in new techniques.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s of Science degree in Neuroscience, Biochemistry, or related discipline.

Job Duties


o
Assist in the conduct of research, including the collection of information and samples.
o
Analyze experimental data and interpret results to write reports and summaries of findings.
o
Keep detailed logs of all work-related activities.
o
Use computers, computer-interfaced equipment, or high-technology industrial applications to perform work duties.
o
Clean, maintain and prepare supplies and work areas.
o
Set up, clean and maintain, laboratory equipment.
o
Measure or weigh compounds and solutions for use in experiments.
o
Delivers supplies and laboratory specimens to designated work areas.
· Maintain inventory reports and logs.
