Job Description Summary:

To coordinate and implement activities in relation to student clubs, organizations, committees, and student-related special events, programs, activities, and recognition and award programs.

Job Description:

Description of Duties and Tasks

1) Coordinates programs & activities for Student Life.
2) Serves as a process holder for collegewide student development programming areas that includes: program development, implementation, evaluation, and assessment; serves on collegewide committees related to the program areas.
3) Provides oversight of student organizations and groups which include: recruitment, interviewing, work allocation, scheduling, training, problem resolution, pre- and post-performance evaluation, and assessment. Serves in an advisory capacity to student groups and organizations.
4) Researches, recommends, develops, and implements departmental programs and activities in conjunction with Student Life Specialists.
5) Oversees workflow of assigned Student Life Specialist, temporary (hourly) and volunteer staff, and Student Life Campus Office.
6) Maintains campus operating and programming budget accounts. Oversees financial transactions for student organizations and groups.
7) Prepares administrative reports for Student Life events, programs, budgets, and accomplishments.
8) Interprets and implements policies and procedures for Student Life programs, events, and activities. Complies with institution and federal reporting regulations, including but not limited to, Clery Act, Title IX, grant funded programs and student interaction regulations.
9) Develops and maintains appropriate records and databases, follow-up systems for current and prospective students and community stakeholders.  Works to encourage student retention and persistence.
10) Interfaces with representatives and educational institutions, district-wide departments, local businesses, community partners and other related groups to encourage participation in student life events, stimulate interest, and coordinate engagement strategies.
11) Serves as a mentor to students through leadership development, training, 1-on-1 and group sessions.
12) Integrates student learning outcomes and developmental theories of NACE Core Competencies within the development of new initiatives, including Academic Student Success workshops, Community Service Experience, Peer Mentors, First Year Experience, Mentor & Leadership, Social Justice Programs, etc.
13) Works collaboratively with other Student Affairs areas and Instructional Units.
14) Serves as first level contract negotiator of vendor event contracts, vendor insurance conditions, and purchasing care requirements.
15) Plans, organizes, and oversees student travel programs; chaperones off campus trips and events, as needed.

Required Work Experience


* Two years related work experience.

Required Education


* Bachelor's degree.

Special Requirements


* Valid Texas Driver's License and reliable transportation needed for local Austin area travel.

Physical Requirements


* Work is performed in a standard office or similar environment.
* Subject to standing, walking, sitting, bending, reaching, pushing, and pulling.
* Occasional lifting of objects up to 10 pounds.

Salary Range

$44,817 - $56,021
