We are seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral research fellow to join the Metcalfe laboratory in the Department of Discovery Oncology at Genentech. We are looking for a candidate who is passionate about making fundamental scientific discoveries that have the potential to impact human health. This postdoctoral fellow will lead projects that advance our understanding of the mammary gland and/or breast cancer biology. Scientific insights resulting from this research are expected to be presented at scientific conferences and published in high impact journals. The successful applicant will have an opportunity to collaborate across multiple groups whose expertise spans different scientific disciplines, approaches and technologies.

Qualifications:

The successful candidate will:

• be a recent or pending PhD graduate in molecular, cellular, or cancer biology, or a related biological or biomedical science.

• have advanced at least one key research project as evidenced by a first author paper published or accepted in a respected peer-reviewed journal.

• be technically rigorous, curious and creative.

• have excellent communication skills and a collaborative and collegial mindset.

• be willing to develop computational biology skills guided by our computational biology collaborators.

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of California is $64,800 and $120,300. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.  This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.
