Job Description

Peer Mentors will help acclimate freshmen to The Lubin School of Business by serving as guides and confidants. They will be matched to freshmen with the same or similar majors enrolled in multiple sections of BUS101: Contemporary Business Practice in order to help build engagement among the students and increase retention.

Position Duties
  • Peer Mentors will attend a luncheon at the beginning of the semester in order to meet their assigned freshmen and address any concerns the freshmen may have as well as encourage engagement and retention within The Lubin School of Business.
  • Peer Mentors will create GroupMe chats with their assigned freshmen that they will be responsible for keeping open and actively engaged for the duration of the Semester.
  • Peer Mentors will also host a monthly study hall or lunch meeting for their assigned freshman in addition to a study hall held during finals week.
  • Peer leaders will play an important role in helping all new students to purposefully plan to make the most of all that Pace and the Lubin School of Business have to offer.

Position Qualifications
  • Overall GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Lubin School of Business second-semester Sophomore or higher
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Reliable and patient with new students
  • Grade of a B or higher in BUS101

Work Hours
Exact schedule to be determined with supervisor; no more than 10 hours total

Hourly Rate Range
Stipend of $200
