Full Job Description

Position Summary: The Human Resources Director will manage employee matters across our field operations locations and be responsible for review and development of PRFI policies, implementing Human Resources best practices, ensuring legal compliance and adherence to PRFI policies.

Major Duties:

Employee Relations:

· Will serve as a subject matter expert and escalation point for all employee relations matters.

· Investigate complex employee relations issues; identify and implement resolutions.

· Develop and implement employee relations policies, practices, and procedures. Ensure adherence to company policies and current and pending legal regulations.

· Conduct training on employee relations topics. Research trends and ensure our training material is continuously updated and relevant.

· Identify trends, gaps and challenges through use of employee relations metrics. Use your findings to foster a proactive approach to employee relations.

· Ensure employee relations programs and policies are in alignment with company strategy.

Training & Development Duties:

· Coordinates management training in interviewing, hiring, terminations, promotions, performance review, safety, and sexual harassment.

· Administers performance review program to ensure effectiveness within organization.

Compliance & Legal Duties:

· Consults legal counsel to ensure that policies comply with federal, state, and local law.

· Studies legislation, arbitration decisions, and collective bargaining contracts to assess industry trends.

· Identifies legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensures policies, procedures, and reporting adhere to federal, state, and local law.

· Represents management in negotiating collective bargaining agreements.

· Represents organization at personnel-related hearings and investigations.

Recruitment & Retention Duties:

· Prepares personnel forecast to project employment needs.

· Prepares reports and recommends procedures to reduce absenteeism and turnover.

Compensation Duties:

· Analyzes wage and salary reports and data to determine competitive compensation plan.

· Administers salary administration program to ensure compliance and equity within organization.

Benefits & Insurance Duties:

· Administers benefits programs such as life, health, dental and disability insurances, pension plans, vacation, sick leave, leave of absence, and employee assistance.

· Keeps records of benefits plans participation such as insurance and pension plan, personnel transactions such as hires, promotions, transfers, performance reviews, and terminations, and employee statistics for government reporting.

· Investigates employee accidents in cooperation with Protective Services department and prepares reports for workers compensation insurance carrier.

· Contracts with outside suppliers to provide employee services, such as medical insurance, employee assistance plan, and other benefits programs.

· Responsible for mandated HR filings: EEO-1, 5500, ACA filings, etc. and mandated distributions to staff.

Other Duties:

· Responds to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs.

· Prepares and manages budget of human resources operations.

· Performs activities of workers supervised when necessary.

· Hires, fires, trains, supervises, and disciplines staff as appropriate.

· Performs other duties as required by management.

Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree required, Masters preferred. SPHR a plus.

· Ten or more years’ experience in a leadership role managing human resources in a non-profit setting.

· Demonstrated knowledge of New York State and Federal regulations and requirements.

· Experience conducting investigations.

· Ability to attract, retain, and train, develop and appraise staff effectively.

· Strong leadership skills required. Experience leading teams and managing projects.

· Strong expertise in Microsoft Office Suite.

· Must have superior organizational and analytical skills, and excellent verbal and written communication skills.

· Must be able to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

· Ability to work collaboratively with a variety of people, as well as an aptitude for teamwork.

· Ability to use public transportation for travel to program locations throughout New York City.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $100,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift

  • New York, NY: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred)
