Description
I am recruiting a Lab Manager or Postdoctoral Associate who is interested in helping our lab improve understanding of dryland ecological systems and their uncertain future. Candidates with a master's degree or Ph.D. will be considered - we want the best person regardless of their academic rank. Our lab develops novel and actionable insight on the climate-driven dynamics of dryland ecosystems. We have a wide variety of projects, including (but not limited to): (1) field research exploring the survival and mortality of ponderosa pine seedlings; (2) microclimate and ecohydrological assessment of Mojave Desert shrublands at the Gemini solar project; and (3) aridification pathways of dryland ecosystems. The successful candidate will facilitate one or more of these projects alongside collaborators in academia and the federal government, and will co-design a mentoring plan that will help them refine their skills as a scientific professional. This position will be housed within the School of Life Sciences at the University of Nevada Las Vegas (https://www.unlv.edu/lifesciences). UNLV is a Carnegie R1 research university, and is one of the most diverse campuses in the nation. In addition to nightlife, dining and entertainment options, Las Vegas offers extensive year-round outdoor recreation opportunities, a ski area, and easy access to ten US National Parks and the Pacific Ocean. Please contact me if you have any questions!
