Position Summary

We invite talented post-doctoral candidates to apply for a position in Dr. Adetunji Toriola’s molecular epidemiology Lab (www.toriolalab.org ). The candidate will play a critical role in determining molecular drivers of breast cancer development in premenopausal women to identify biomarkers relevant to breast cancer prevention with the goal of informing personalized breast cancer prevention. The candidate will participate in projects on multi-omics data analysis integrated with breast imaging data to provide in-depth understanding of the determinants of mammographic breast density and breast cancer. 

Successful applicants will be joining a vibrant cohort of postdoctoral fellows across the Division of Public Health Sciences. The division has a strong mentoring and career development program with a track record of successfully placing trainees. Our multidisciplinary faculty conducts world-leading research on a wide range of health issues and leads community education and outreach to prevent cancer and other diseases, promote population health, and improve quality and access to healthcare in Missouri and beyond.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develops hypotheses and evaluates research questions on breast cancer prevention, with a focus on premenopausal women.
  • Analyzes datasets to determine the associations of molecular and genomic markers with mammographic breast density and breast cancer development.
  • Prepares and submits results of research in internal seminars, national scientific meetings, and journals.
  • Assists with grant preparation and reporting.
  • Trains graduate students in the lab on the application of epidemiological methods and principles to address research questions.

Required Qualifications

  • Ph.D., M.D. or equivalent terminal or doctoral degree.
  • Background in epidemiology and/or genomic data analysis.

Working Conditions

This position works in an office environment.

Salary Range

Base pay is commensurate with experience.
