The Position

We are seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Fellow to work at the interface between the Comps-Agrar lab and the Masureel lab in the Departments of Biochemical and Cellular Pharmacology and Structural Biology. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to investigate disease-relevant G-protein coupled receptor (GPCR) signaling pathways, study the molecular basis underlying GPCR pharmacology and apply structural biology methods to provide critical insights into the downstream biology. Projects will be pertinent to the Immunology and Oncology fields. The successful candidate will be leading projects within a highly collaborative and multidisciplinary group and is expected to design and execute experiments using a wide range of techniques including biochemical, cellular, biophysical and pharmacological methods, while also having the opportunity to use our state-of-the-art cryo-EM facility. The Postdoctoral Fellow’s seminal discoveries are expected to be published in top-tier journals and presented at external conferences.

Who You Are

  • PhD in pharmacology, biochemistry, molecular/cellular biology, or a related field 

  • Qualified candidates must also have advanced at least one key research project as evidenced by a first author paper published or accepted in a leading peer-reviewed journal.

  • Strong background in receptor pharmacology. Experience with cell culture, cell-based assays and protein biochemistry is highly desired. Experience in structure resolution is a plus.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills are essential.

  • Independent, curious, rigorous and collaborative are a must.

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of California is $64,800 and $120,300.  Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.  This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.
