The Position

Genentech seeks a talented and highly motivated scientist to pursue a postdoctoral research project in Process Virology, Pharma Technical Development. This project will contribute to the development of Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) for cell line characterization and viral safety evaluation of CHO cells used in biotechnology production. Candidates should possess strong experience in both virology and experimental techniques for NGS. The position has cross-function interactions with a group of talented and highly motivated scientists and engineers at Genentech. This is an ideal position for a PhD looking to further develop skills in biotechnology industry.

Qualified candidates will possess the following:

  • PhD in virology, microbiology, or other relevant disciplines

  • Strong experience with molecular biology techniques, including sample processing and assay development for NGS

  • Record of publication in peer reviewed journals

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills

  • Bioinformatics experience is considered a plus, but not required

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of California is $64,800 and $120,300. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.  This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.
