Postdoctoral Fellow

Job Description


NIH/NCI funded postdoctoral fellow position available in the Yu Lab in the Department of Radiation Oncology/Winship Cancer Institute at Emory University School of Medicine for a highly motivated recent or soon to be graduate interested in obtaining postdoctoral training in basic/translational research in the DNA Damage Response in Cancer. The postdoctoral fellow will be involved in project(s) involved with understanding how cells respond to DNA replication stress and more generally DNA damage, how this deregulation leads to development of disease, including cancer, and how this knowledge may be utilized for improvements in cancer prevention, diagnosis, and treatment. The Yu lab is well-funded with NIH/NCI, DOD, and foundation grants, has a strong track record of publishing in high impact journals, and is strongly committed to the career development of our trainees, including recent postdoctoral fellows who have obtained NCI K01 and K08 awards and transitioned to independent tenure-track faculty positions in academia. Candidates must have a Ph.D. or M.D./Ph.D. degree. Competitive applicants will have experience in molecular biology, cell biology, biochemistry, and/or genetic methodologies and first author publications in well regarded scientific journals.
