Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:

The College of Veterinary Medicine at Iowa State University, Department of Veterinary Clinical Sciences, offers a training program in Veterinary Oncology designed to prepare residents for board certification by the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (Oncology).

This position is an initial term of one year with the possibility of annual renewal through 7/16/2026 based on funding.


Required Minimum Qualifications:

DVM or equivalent degree


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Candidates must have satisfactorily completed a one year internship or equivalent clinical experience upon employment start date.
  • Registration with the Iowa Board of Pharmacy in compliance with the Controlled Substances Registration Act will be required prior to clinical practice.
  • Licensure by the State of Iowa Board of Veterinary Medicine upon employment start date.  

 
 


Department/Program & College Description:

This Oncology residency program has been designed to provide an in-depth training in medical oncology and related basic and applied sciences. Our program strives to prepare residents for active careers in academia or specialty practice, and the caseload provides an excellent and broad experience over the duration of the residency.
