Post-doctoral Fellow – Cardiovascular development and disease

Overview
The Srinivasan Lab at Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation (OMRF) studies cardiovascular disease. Specifically, the lab is interested in identifying the signaling pathways that regulate lymphatic vascular disorders, heart valve disease, inflammation and metabolic dysfunction. We are recruiting highly motivated researchers with experience in Cell biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry or Immunology for postdoctoral fellowship that is funded by the National Institute of Health (NIH). Several trainees from the Srinivasan lab have successfully transitioned to academic and biotech careers.

Responsibilities
The Postdoctoral Fellow’s responsibility will be to elucidate the mechanisms by which signaling molecules regulate cardiovascular development and disease. Towards this end the fellow will use mouse models to investigate pathological changes in tissues such as the gut, heart, lungs and brain; use cellular and biochemical approaches to characterize the signaling pathways; and use omics approaches such as RNA-seq and ATAC-seq to elucidate the molecular mechanisms. The fellow must be willing to learn the techniques that are available in the Srinivasan lab and OMRF and establish new protocols as they become necessary. Qualifications
Ph.D. in a biological science or other relevant area, M.D., or equivalent.
