"The Indian Preference Law and Indian Preference Policy of the Indian Health Service have evolved from the Indian Reorganization Act of 1934 and various authorities under the United States Code and Code of Federal Regulations. The United States Congress intended to facilitate Indian self- government.

Highly responsible professional will work in the development of contracts, grants proposals and reports, and correspondence with current and prospective funders. Incumbents in this position will be responsible for implementing, monitoring, and supporting a comprehensive quality management system.

Purpose:

The purpose of this position manages all efforts related to applying for, implementing, monitoring, and reporting on government and non-government grants. This position will identify potential grant support from government agencies, foundations, and corporations to meet the financial and operational needs of the organization.

This position will also be the lead in coordinating other projects within the organization, such as health promotion and disease prevention plans and additional reporting required by funding sources.

Job Summary:
Under general supervision of the Executive Director.

Program/Grants Management:

o Organizes programs and activities within the mission of the organization by optimizing a grant management program. Seeking out funding opportunities, coordinate, or writes program funding proposals to guarantee uninterrupted delivery of service.

o Serves as a liaison to the program managers by assisting them with managing timelines, preparing deliverables, monitoring program budgets, financial reports, progress reports, and final reports. Produces an accurate and timely report of program status by working with program managers throughout the lifecycle of the grant.

o Implements and manages changes and interventions to ensure project goals are achieved, cultural opportunities are explored and coordinates meetings with stakeholders to make communication easy and transparent regarding project issues and decisions on services

o Assists Executive Director with a business plan for the organization

o Attends stakeholder meetings to assist the Executive Director in representing DIHFS in many capacities.

o Assists the Board of Directors with fundraising initiatives, including maintaining a donor registry. Corresponds with donors such as providing donation letters, informing them of fundraising activities, and being a liaison to the board assisting them with activities.

o Participates in the annual audit

o Attends one grants management/ uniform guidance training per year

o Excellent writing skills a must

Fiscal Duties

o Manages program budgets and actuals

o Prepares financial reports

o Posts Revenue from A/R into QuickBooks

o Prepares agency annual report

Quality Assurance Coordinator

o Participates in organizations quality improvement activities

o Monitors and reports on all activities, processes, and procedures.

o Develops internal auditing tools and conducts internal audits and reports

o Performs regular inspections and reviews to ensure employees adhere to quality and safety policies.

Assist in company policies, processes, and procedures

Computers and Technology:
Microsoft Office Suite required: PowerPoint, Excel a Must, Word, electronic health record, Quick books, Microsoft Teams

Education:
Bachelor’s degree in related field required.

Experience:
Three years of project management required. Experience in healthcare preferred.
