Postdoctoral Fellow - Research Biology, Shaw Lab

The Position

There is an opening for a talented Postdoctoral Fellow to join the laboratory of Dr. Andrey Shaw in the Research Biology Department at Genentech. The interests of the lab are broad and currently focused on cancer immunology signaling pathways, macrophage biology, protein kinases and the role of fibrosis and ageing in chronic kidney disease. We are looking for candidates with proven track record of excellence in either Immunology, Cell Biology or Biochemistry with skills that could be applied to a scientific problem of interest to the post-doc and the laboratory. The successful candidate will have a strong scientific background that could include: cellular immunology, single cell RNA-Seq and other single cell technologies, protein chemistry, cell biology, proteomics, multi-dimensional flow cytometry, microscopy. The Genentech scientific environment has access to generous and state of the art resources. The candidate will be part of the Genentech post-doctoral training program that provides an outstanding environment and the opportunity to pursue fundamental basic science questions in an environment focused in drug development. Our successful post-doctoral fellows go on to pursue careers in both industry or in academia.

Qualifications

The qualified individual will possess a Ph.D. in Biochemistry, Cell Biology, Immunology or related field with a solid publication record that includes at least one first authored publication. Experience with animals and primary cell culture would be an advantage. Excellent communication and writing skills as well as a track record of working in highly collaborative environments is a must.
