The department of Veterinary Biosciences, Dr. Uladzimir Karniychuk's laboratory is seeking a Post Doctoral Scholar to support laboratory work in Virology and Emerging and re-emerging infectious diseases. The Postdoc will be expected to conduct research and provide technical assistance to the PI, students, and trainees, as needed. Main responsibilities include: 1) collaborating with the PI in the generation and testing of research hypotheses and data analysis, writing of papers, grants, and reports, and preparation of presentations and lectures; 2) collecting and organizing data for research activities; 3) attending, participating, or presenting at laboratory meetings, seminars, graduate and undergraduate lectures, and conferences as needed; 4) performing miscellaneous office duties as assigned by the PI, including, but not limited to, ordering supplies and helping the PI with organizing and coordinating meetings and projects; 5) maintaining frequent communication with colleague lab mates and collaborators. Work hours will typically occur between normal business hours but may occasionally require some evenings, weekends and/or holiday hours.

Requirements: Doctorate (PhD) degree in virology, immunology, microbiology, molecular biology or related areas; experience working in research environment; strong written and communication skills.

Physical Requirements: Standing for long periods of time; sitting/staring at computer screens for long periods of time; exposure to needle sticks, hazardous chemicals, and/or bio hazardous waste
